FREEDIVER SWIMS WITH SALTWATER CROCODILE

After living in Arnhem land for 8 years and barely having a crocodile encounter it made me really complacent. This encounter was as good as they come. The scariest part is that I swam past it without seeing it, only to have my mate Mitch scream "croc" soon after he entered the water and noticed it on the bottom after the bubbles cleared from his mask.

The confidence came to stay in the water with 3 experienced divers, with cumulative 50+ years experience along with an experienced boat driver who also ended up scoring a swim with the elusive Saltwater crocodile.

We watched the crocodile for 6 minutes before diving on it and ended up spending around 20 minutes in the water swimming with the majestic lizard.

I by no means condone swimming with crocodiles, this was a unique encounter as you can tell from the 15kg Spanish mackerel swimming around it in the blue water.
