How Not To Get Kicked By A Horse - Why Horses Kick People - Stay Away From Back Hooves

Horses kick because that is what they do. That is how they talk and communicate. They can't call you, can't send you a text and they don't write letters. They use their body, head position, ear movement, tail position, body position, rear, kick, bite or buck (high Kick), that's about it for how horses can talk. If you don't listen, can't understand their warnings or request to back off or if you run in the kick zone, you will likely get kicked.

Most people kicked are not kicked by their own horses? They are kicked by other people's horses since they don't know the horse and have no idea about the horse's background, training, experience, eye sight, hearing, pains or injuries that will make a horse react differently than their horse.

There are NO absolutes in horses, no always or nevers, it all depends on many unknown factors, so that is why you DON"T get involved with other people's horses.

If you make a choice to get in the middle a horse situation without being asked and without knowing any information about the horse, then you are asking for trouble and trouble is only a hoof beat away.

I talk about pressure and release, not approaching horses from behind (the kick zone), staying away from horses back hooves, and don't run up and approach a horse like a predatory or you will likely get treated like one.

Horses are instinctive animals and react that way, if you don't realize that and try and help or stick your nose in someone's business, you will be on the dummies I talk about it or you will end like the lady that tired to save a horse from plastic bag and is not dead.
