Happy Birthday 65th birthday to Geddy Lee who was born on this date in 1953.

I’ve said before that Gene Simmons struck the match, Geezer Butler lit the fire, and Geddy Lee kept it burning. I’ve been playing the bass for a very long time now and my progression from Kiss to Rush was a relatively quick one, probably about 2 years, more or less. After all these years, my admiration for Geddy has never wavered. Sure, I like certain periods better than others, but it’s been so wonderful to have had this one, singular and constant “hero” to look up to, to admire, to learn from, and to aspire to play like. As far as musical influences go, there is not another person, or group, I can say that about. It's safe to say that I'd never have even started a YouTube page without Geddy's influence and inspiration. I can also say that my Mother breathed a sigh of relief when the music emanating from beneath my teenage bedroom door switched from “Electric Funeral” to “Closer to the Heart”.

I’m playing the fairly well modified, former Rickenbacker 4003 which sports a ClassicAmplification bridge pick-up, a Pick-Guardian pick-guard, as well as the obligatory Zero-Mod thumb-rest.
