A Passage To Bangkok Bass Cover HD

Well, first and foremost, the response to my “Longwinded Message…” video was both bewildering and astounding. If I’d have known that all I had to do to get that many views, likes, and comments was to blabber on and on for 20 minutes, I’d have done it a long time ago. All joking aside, it was truly humbling to receive so many heartfelt responses and I’m pleasantly surprised that parts of my story seemed to resonate with so many people. I tend to live in a bit of a self-imposed vacuum and honestly did not anticipate this sort reaction. It pains me to know that I won’t be able to respond to each and every comment (although, as a rule, I try to reply to as many as I can), but please know that I am continuing to read them all and hitting the little “heart” icon to let you know that I’ve read the comment. I have to tell you, some of the responses are truly touching. Wow……just wow. You people are nuts.

So, why “A Passage to Bangkok”? Well let me tell you. Not too long ago, I received a message through YouTube from a subscriber; a husband and wife duo, who asked if I would record a bass track for them to use for their live performances. Gregg plays the guitar and Mary sings over self-made backing tracks. They said they had a drum track made for them by the fellow who did a “Spirit of Radio” drum cover at Le Studio. I’m pretty sure I have seen it before. They must have buttered me up pretty good because I agreed to do it. I have zero recording skills and basically have to record a track the same way I record my videos - in one take. It wasn’t that big a deal to refresh myself with the song. I sent the track. They said they were happy with it. They asked how much $ they owed me for doing it! It took a little bit of back and forth to convince them that I’d accept nothing more than a thank you note. They wound up sending a vintage (1984) high-quality Freddy Krueger mask which I thought was touching. I’m sure you’ll be seeing it in the background in future videos. Anyway, after I did the track, I said, “Why waste the opportunity to re-do another video?” so, here it is, long story and all - “A Passage To Bangkok” by Rush, off of their album, 2112, which came out on April Fools’ day in 1976.

Oh, Gregg and Mary’s YouTube page is https://www.youtube.com/user/BURZZA3G
Check them out. Unfortunately, I think they’ll only be using Bangkok for live performances…nah, they never play Bangkok!

Once again, I'm playing the old Guild B-301.
