Cybersecurity 101: What is Counterintelligence?

The Counterintelligence Service at Binary Defense is a group of professionals who are watching for any information that has to do with our protected clients, that shows up on the dark web, on criminal forums, on social media posts, or any one of the variety of pieces of data that gets posted onto sites like Pastebin. Those sites, whether they be hidden forums that only a few can access or a pastebin that's open to the entire world often contain information that our clients want to know. For example, if a whole bunch of email addresses and passwords for a company are posted onto Pastebin or a social media site that company needs to take quick a remediative action to make sure that those passwords are not misused. Also if someone is posting on a dark web forum that they're planning an attack against a particular company's website and they're enlisting the help of other attackers to help them amplify that attack we need to know that and notify our customers right away so that again, they can take preventative steps to keep that from becoming a big deal.
