Former CIA agent Shares Declassified Stories and Discusses Counterintelligence

Around Texas with Chancellor John Sharp - Season 1 Episode 4

Texas A&M University – and the Bush School of Government and Public Service, in particular – has been a favorite place of the CIA to recruit agents and analysts.

Professor Jim Olson is a big reason for that. Jim is a professor at the Bush School, where he teaches courses on intelligence and counterintelligence. He also is a former spy.

Chancellor Sharp sat down with Jim at the Bush School. They touched on a lot of topics such as catching spies, Olson’s book: To Catch a Spy: The Art of Counterintelligence, and China’s efforts to steal our intellectual property and how it threatens our national security.

In the episode, you will hear some incredible stories about now-declassified CIA cases. Also, former presidential advisor and cabinet member Andy Card discusses Jim’s legacy and the importance of the Bush School.
