Waterford Integration Services, Europe Direct Waterford and Waterford Libraries came together online to host a morning with an inspirational line-up of women to coincide with International Women’s Day Events on Wednesday 10 March from 11am – 12:30pm.
This very special line-up of speakers and performers included Waterford writer Megan Nolan, spoken word artist Sasha Terfous, Health Advocate and performer Osas Iyamu Usideme, street artist Caoilfhionn Hanton, singer songwriter Minnie Marley as well as inspirational speakers Dr Lucy Michael from IHREC, Toluwani Akaehomen, business woman and global leader, Jennifer Tejada retired Chief of Police and Anne Nolan from Waterford Integration Services. Journalist Dymphna Nugent MCed the event which will showed and celebrated women's achievements.
International Women’s Day reminds us that a challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.
