How To: Toyota Prius Dashboard Lights Won't Turn On | Easy Fix!

2006 Toyota Prius with Dashboard lights that won't come on.
This will work for any 2nd generation prius 2004-2009.
I've had this happen a few times, and did some research and learned how to fix the problem. I also know how to shut the car off if it doesn't turn off, so I can help out with that if needed. Watch for my easy tutorial and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Turn Off Car

Step 2: Push Start Button without foot on brake.

Step 3: Hold info button and turn lights on and off 3 times.

Step 4: On the menu, Vehicle Display Check.

Step 5: Foot on brake and push the start button.

This may or may not work on the 1st time, but will work after a few times regardless.
What causes this problem is a bad combination meter, or also known as display board. the part is typically $700 to replace, but in the mean time you can do this to get by until you can get the part replaced.

I love working on cars and especially Toyota Prius's.
