Why I Love Visible Mending: Communicating & Normalizing Sustainability (Hausfrau Friday)

Mending our clothes is a simple, meaningful way to increase the sustainability of our households. When we live in a throw-away, fast-paced consumer culture, it is a radical act to keep and care for garments for many years. In contrast to the frenetic pace of a high-turnover fashion industry, we are slowing down, finding alternatives, and being intentional with our choices. We are building skills to support our values, and mending is one of those skills.

Lately, I've been enjoying the trend to embrace VISIBLE mending. Why would we choose visible mending over invisible? Why choose mending at all? How can our small acts normalize sustainability and help us live our values?
