Exploring Georgetown and the Jefferson Memorial, both in DC
Georgetown was founded in 1751 in Maryland by the Potomac river. The port of Georgetown is much older. Today the area is part of Washington DC. M Street/Wisconsin Ave would be a great area to visit if you go there for the first time. Many restaurants and shops are located there.
The Jefferson Memorial is another great place to visit. It is located south of the National Mall by the Tidal Basin.
