The defence is challenging how police handled the crime scene where accused number one, Musa Kekana, was arrested hours after the 2024 assassination of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart. Police Captain Phimi Sekgobela remains under cross-examination in a trial-within-a-trial, as the defence seeks to have key evidence declared inadmissible. Kekana, an alleged hitman, is charged alongside alleged mastermind Vusimusi "Cat" Matlala and three co-accused, facing 25 charges including 11 counts of attempted murder linked to three assassination plots.Newzroom Afrika's Veronica Makhoali reports.
