CSA seeks R500 million for 2027 Cricket World Cup upgrades

Cricket South Africa (CSA) will approach the government for R500 million to help upgrade the eight venues selected to host matches during the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.

South Africa is set to host its biggest international sporting event since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, with preparations gathering pace ahead of the tournament in the next three years.

2027 Local Organising Committee CEO Qondisa Ngwenya outlines the funding requirements and plans to ensure the country is ready to host the global showpiece.
