New reservoir for Jacksons Edge, Disley
The reservoir in Disley has been providing water since 1912.
Jacksons Edge service reservoir supplies water to over 40,000 people across the region.
The reservoir has served the community well, but is now over 100 years old and has already been repaired several times. Jacksons Edge is reaching the end of its useful life.
We need to maintain a reliable high quality drinking water supply. To keep the water flowing we are building a brand new reservoir in Disley, with two tanks -- this will be built at the same location as the existing reservoir. Together the tanks will be able to hold 18 million litres of water, this is the same as eight Olympic swimming pools.
