Q.The educationalcontributions of Sir Syed were his main works for the Muslim community. Do you agree or disagree? Explain (14)

In 1886 he set Mohammaden Educational Conference which aimed to raise the educational standards amongst the Muslims and held conferences in a number of cities attracting orators and writers who played a major role in establishing a political platform that is the Muslim League in the future, thus, ensuring to protect the rights of the Muslims.
He set up a scientific society at Ghazi Pur in 1863 whose main purpose was to translate scientific works from Persian, English and Arabic into Urdu so that it was available for a wider community and help the Muslims in obtaining better employment and improving their living standards.

* Sir Syed contributed to improve the relations between the British and Muslim community by removing British doubts by writing the 'Loyal Moh amadans of India' in 1860 in which he gave a detailed account about Loyal services which Muslims had given and named various Muslims who had shown Loyalty to the British as well as asked them to end their hostility towards the Muslim community. He also wrote essay on the causes of Indian revolt in which he pointed out that the British were wrong to put the blame for the War of Independence on the Muslims and narrated the reasons for dissatisfactions of British policies which caused the war so he tried to clarify the Muslim position.
* He also tried to clear up a misunderstanding amongst the British who resented being called 'Nadarath' by the Muslims. The British considered this as on insult so Sir Syed pointed out that the term came from 'Nasir' which means 'helper! Hence, It was a reflection of the positive image Muslims had of the British so he tried to improve the image of the Muslims in the eyes of the British.
Sir Syed Ahmed Khan contributed to religions by writing "Tabyan-ul-Kalam" which pointed out similarities between Islam and Christianity and helped the Muslims and British in correcting their views about the two monotheistic religions. Secondly, he wrote an essay in reply to William Muir's Book the life of the Prophet where he gave corrected version of Islam and tried to clarify the mistaken beliefs of the Christians.
