Portuguese Bifana

Today, join Natasha in making Portuguese Bifana; lovely, savoury pork cutlettes. Perfect between a portuguese bun or over rice!

Ingredients:
2-3 lbs pork cutlets
4-5 med. Onions
1 bell pepper
1 jar oven roasted peppers packed in oil
2 bay leaves
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp grd white pepper
2 tsp grd aniseed
2-3 tsp of minced garlic
½ cup of pepper and garlic paste (optional)*
1 cup of red wine
½ cup of water
Salt and pepper to taste
*Garlic and pepper paste can be found in any Portuguese store or any grocery store that has a Mediterranean/European section
