In the last episode, I spoke about Turkey as an investment destination. Then I explained about our company “RE-PIE-ASSET MANAGEMENT” along with a brief introduction about one of our funds.
In this episode, I will explain about the taxation advantages of REIFs and the Fund structure in Turkey.
Let me now introduce you to the tax advantages of alternative investment funds in Turkey:
if a real person or a company owns a real estate, the taxation can go up to 35% of the profit. The taxation leaves him with 65% as the net profit whether it is due to rental income or sale of the real estate. While there are no taxes if an investor invests in real estate investment funds. The Total gain will pour into his portfolio.

The fund structure in Turkey is well established and regulated. the fund has a fund committee and the fund portfolio. The fund committee consists of the managers of the fund, who holds the main decisions for making investments in line with fund’s strategy. The fund itself is an independent instrument that is audited by an independent auditor chosen from the biggest companies. It also consists of CMB licensed independent appraiser and a risk manager. the investor will deposit money to their investment account to acquire a certain number of fund shares in return. The investment proceedings transferred by the investor are not kept in manager’s company account, but it is transferred to an independent custodian bank under the investor's name. This bank is called the custodian bank of the fund, which ensures that the investor's money is kept safe. The qualified investor will be able to check his/or her assets using a personal account number and password through internet banking.
