Task-Based Language Learning

In this session, we explore the concept and practice of Task-Based Learning (TBL). We overview the cycle of pre-task activities, task, planning, reporting and language focus/feedback in a TBL approach in a language classroom, and will look at ways to make TBL enjoyable and motivating. We also briefly discuss the possibilities and challenges of task-based assessment.

The session is hosted by Tony Clark, Senior Research Manager at Cambridge Assessment English and Dr Andrea Révész, Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics at the Institute of Education, University College London.
