Rescue of a bat hanging on a fence: this is Cumber

Cumber is an old adult male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was most likely hit by a car and climbed onto the fence beside a busy road.
He was very out of it when I arrived.
He has a marked head injury and some damage to his wrist. I thought he may have been a failed raptor attack - that a goshawk or an eagle may have grabbed and dropped him, because he has some damage with a puncture, to his wrist, but I couldn't find any further punctures afterwards.
The video ends abruptly when I take a personal phone call and turn off recording. Then I had to race one of my other bats half way across town to a carer who was taking her and could meet me if I left immediately - so Cumber went to another carer on my way home and she sorted out the rest of the details of his care.
He deteriorated with a swollen head and eye area, and despite antibiotics and analgesia and fluids, he was euthanased 24 hours into care because of his severe deterioration.
He was quite an old boy with all his teeth worn down, though he wasn't horribly skinny - so until his accident he was managing quite well in the wild despite his lack of teeth.
RIP Cumber you handsome old dude.
