Rescue of a bat under a cocos palm: this is Chess

Chess is an adult female Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was found on the ground under a cocos palm.
Cocos palms are introduced weed trees. The bats will eat the palm fruit when there is nothing else, and it gives them a spectacular orange poo which is quite sticky. Sometimes they will get diarrhoea from the fruit. The seed is really fibrous and it trashes their teeth. There isn't much food value in the fruit.
It's winter here. The bats are hungry and the trees which have blossom have had the nectar and pollen washed out after the recent rains, so the food value is significantly less.
Add in the cold weather to the food shortage equation, and the bats are doing it tough. They need more nutrition to keep themselves warm, and they need to be able to find enough food for survival.

Chess smacked into something and hit her head. After being warmed up she turned into a panicked octopus, so she was transferred to another carer with other adult bats so she could hear and smell them while she was lying down.

Day 2 morning: She was unhappy but alive, and showing signs of her head injury.
Day 2 evening: She was very unhappy and agitated.

I don't know how she's going to go - at this stage it could be either way.

Update: Chess didn't make it. Her condition deteriorated and she was euthanased.
RIP Chess.
