Either intentionally or due to a similar feature set that results in similar tonal traits, the UL710 is a very unusual amp by VOX.

While it is the legendary successor of the VOX AC10 SRT, it was released in a time where VOX revamped and modernized its line-up. It is also a time where the Fender Black panel amps were all the rage and omnipresent on stages in US and UK.

So it comas as no surprise that VOX was eager to match the feature set of the Black panel Fender amps, including reverb, which probably is one of the reasons why this VOX model sounds different.

Despite the usual VOX setup of 2x EL84 output tubes and an EZ81 rectifier, the amp sounds like a cross between an AC15 and a Deluxe Reverb. It has a clearer and more scooped mid-range - it does not have the usual VOX honk of an AC30, but it still retains the chimey clariy on the top.

It excels at cleans and edge of breakup tones that are indeed very special on this amp and will make in particular single coil guitars come alive.

Once in crunch territory, you will be greeted by whati would describe a ""character sound"" - probably not a daily driver for most players (although it does sound REALLY cool with single coils in particular) its somewhat jageed and fuzzy character will probably appeal to those looking for something distinctly different or a good match for a specific part.

It takes pedals nicely and will go easily into drive, lead and fuzz territories with a stomp box in front.

Unlike the larger models of the UL7xx series, this amp is an all tube design and sits in a very unique tonal and historical spot in the VOX history and is by far one of the rarest VOX amps around.
