2023 NJCAA Region 15 Championship | Duchess UPSETS #12 Nassau! Jeremiah Williams Drops 19 Points!

The third-seeded Dutchess Community College men's basketball team came into the Region 15 Men's Basketball Championship over the weekend firing on all cylinders and capped it off with a 68-61 victory over top seed Nassau Community College on Sunday afternoon at Kingsborough Gymnasium.

The Falcons will head to Herkimer Community College for the 2023 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, with the victory extending their winning streak to five and improving to 18-11. The Lions drop to 22-5 on the season with the loss.

For the Falcons, Tournament MVP #11 Jeremiah Williams led the team in points with 19 while controlling the pace of the game throughout. Jacob Barnett put up 15 points with some clutch buckets in the 2nd half to help DCC keep their lead intact, he was great the whole tournament averaging 14.5 points per game. Nashuan Johnson once again led the team in three-pointers knocking down 3 while tallying 12 points, scoring all of his points in the second half. The anchor of Dutchess, Victor Potter Jr, added 10 points of his own with multiple big-time blocks; he was named to the All-Tournament Team for his efforts on both ends of the floor.
