Plymouth Voyager/Grand Voyager 1998
The Plymouth Voyager was the name of a number of full-size vans produced by Chrysler from 1974 to 1983. In 1984, the Voyager became the Chrysler minivan. When the Plymouth Grand Voyager was compared to its counterpart, the Dodge Caravan, they were nearly identical — right down to built-in cup holders!! That's right, the Plymouth Voyager and the Dodge Caravan were the first mass produced vehicles to have a dedicated built-in cup holder. With the Grand Voyager, Plymouth introduced “Easy-Out Roller Seats.” These seats simplified the installation, removal, and re-positioning of the rear seats. Unfortunately, while it was revolutionary, it wasn't enough to make the Grand Voyager the top minivan choice for drivers. In National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests, it received a 4-star rating for the driver and front passenger, however, when involved in a crash, damage resulted in a fuel leak that could create a fire hazard.
