A series aiming to give a virtual tour of the U.K.'s most remote, inhabited island - Fair Isle. Join me, Rachel, as I guide you round the sights and locations of the island that has been my home for the last five years. Episode 29 - A Day Trip to Shetland

Last week one of my dogs, Meg, developed an infection which meant we had to make an unscheduled visit to the vet's in Scalloway. This involved a flight from Fair Isle to Tingwall, followed by a taxi to the vet's. Since coming to Fair Isle as an eight-week old pup in 2016, this was Meg's first time off the isle and she had a great day out, even seeing her first tree!

As we fly over Shetland you may recognise such places as Fitful Head, St Ninian's Isle and tombolo, Burra and Scalloway. The heather was looking so beautiful in the sunshine!
