Why is the housing market so hot right now? What is causing the housing market to continue to increase? Houses are selling for more than asking price.

There are two main reason as to why that is
Interest rates - the lower the interest rates the more someone who is buying a home can afford.

Inventory levels - this is the amount of homes that are for sale. Some areas have more homes than others but across the united states we have about 50% less homes on the market this year than last year.

As the market is right now, I think that home prices will continue to go up. Especially with the addition of the Joe Bidden first time home buys bill that got introduced.

What is it going to take for the housing market to come down?
