1) The power to these wires had been turned off at the breaker panel in the basement.
2) Wires were coming out of a hole that is not in the center of this back wall. So, I trimmed, stripped, and then bent them to allow them to fit through the side of the ring plate since the wires can’t come out from the center of the ring plate, which will be centered on the back wall. Round light fixture mounting bracket is also known as a ring plate.
3) Install these drywall anchors for the screws. I’m drilling the holes for the anchors. And then hammering in the anchors.
4) Install the ring plate (again, the wires normally should be coming out from the center of the ring but I’m pulling them through from the side and that’s ok because the light box will be coverings them anyway).
5) I taped down the ballast with black electrical tape.
6) The wires are not color coded as black and white. Instead, they are brown and blue. This does not follow the convention used in the united states. Fortunately, they are labelled as L and N, which stand for load wire, which is the hot wire, and neutral wire, respectively.
7) Connect the ground wire coming out of the wall with the yellow wire attached to the ring plate.
8) Connect the blue neutral wire to the white wire. Connect the brown load wire to the black wire.
9) Mount the light fixture with a screw going through the light box and the ring plate at the very top and at the very bottom of the light box. Finishing up the job using screw drivers.
