4 Must Haves for Grand Piano Regulation Sequence

1. Hammers must be off the rest rail (One shank or so)
2. You must have some rep spring (Hammers must rise. Backchecks cannot be set so high that the hammers check above this point.)
3. You must have sufficient key travel (Usually 10mm or more. More is better than less here.)
4. You must have drop (But not excessive. You may need to manipulate letoff, spring tension, rep height and/or jack position to get drop.)
