Music insiders would have you believe that there are a variety of musical genres and categories, and that common ground is few and far between. However, the bottom line is that people embrace music and rhythms that mean something to them, no matter what their background. As Queen Addi knows, music is universal. Over the course of 8 years and 3 albums and countless live performances all over Queen Addi is ready to unleashed. Loved by children, Queen Addi moved to London, England from Jamaica. Her father is a Architect, while her mother is a Business woman; and choir member of her Church. Queen Addi grew up listening to gospel, reggae, R&B, as well as pop music. In her own words she says “music heals, rejuvenates and uplifts my spirit”.
Queen Addi, came to the UK to finish her studies. However things took a turn for her and she began to sing at reggae gigs on sound-systems, which was a hobby at first but is now a reality. Queen Addi began singing at open mic sessions in London Venues with artists such as Beverly Knight, Gappy Ranks, Ndubz, Lady Leshuur, Superflex, Michael Prophet, UK Principal and many other.In 2004 Queen Addi appeared on a compilation with Sean Paul, just a year before he got his American break, with songs like “Gimme di light” and “Baby Boy” featuring Beyonce.
Her music style is critical and she has great songwriting skills in balancing hard-core reggae vibes with more mainstream pop sensibilities and that approach adds to her growing popularity as both a recording and touring artist.
In 2015, Queen Addi plans to release the hit CD From Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary, which contains the crossover single “Girl like Me” and a “Pumping Jumping” collaboration with Base Mosquito.
“Girl like me” is in heavy rotation on the BBC Introducing and may become a Grammy Nominated track with the right music video and a plugger to get it charted.
The whole album is sexy and raving embracing reggae, hip-hop, R&B, rock, pop and rhythms, containing great production and songwriting.
Queen Addi music continues to grow. At this time We are negotiating about touring, She will also be doing more hi resolution new videos, UK urban underground movies and more music etc. (the album to be released soon) is capturing a new and excited group of Queen Addi fans worldwide.
