Stick Welding Stainless Steel. This week we are stick welding some custom stainless steel railing brackets that we started during last weeks TIG welding episode. This will be the first time that I have ever tried to stick weld stainless steel and I have to say I am completely amazed with the results. Because this process does not require gas, you can easily weld or make repairs outside or weld in areas where fans are running. For this project I'm using my Fronius TransTig 210 which is a high quality fully digital 210 amp inverter based stick and TIG welder. For this welding project I'm using 1/8" 308L electrodes welding type 304L stainless steel 1" x 1/4".
