Restoration Rusty Smallest Axe

Hello folks! Today I want to show you, my new restoration project! I found this smallest axe at the flea market. I have never seen it before this kind of axe. It's a light and interesting ax for me. As I understand it's handmade but for what this smallest axe?

Restoration process:
As usual, I used rust remover liquid to remove rust and dirty from the axe. Then I washed it and impregnated via oil. The Back side of the axe head was damaged. I'm tried to align it back, in the process it broke down. I cut a new part and used a welding machine to weld all the problem areas. Then I cleaning it via angle and belt grinder machine. Then I used sandpapers 80, 120 and 150 grit. I cleaned the surface with a solvent and via electrolysis I etched the axe head. I used iron chloride and starting to make an ax handle.
For ax handle, I choose birch tree. The wedge was made of wood. In final, I used a two components paint and homemade wax for wood. As usual made the test for you. I hope, you will enjoy this restoration process.

Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
