Radxa Rock 5 Model B Initial Test / Armbian Debian Sid Gnome Panfork Mesa

Might do opengl tests later. This was testing video decoding and general usability with system. Compiled panfork from source and installed gnome. Sid Edge won't boot yet so this is Sid Legacy (5.10.110). Ubuntu is trash because of snap and I refuse to clean up that mess when I can just use it's bigger brother. If and when panfork is merged into official mesa, this will be a great mini desktop pc. The performance is comparable to a Pentium N6005 (jasper lake) at about half the power usage, which is quite good. Max watts from wall I get is 8.6W under 7z benchmark hitting all cores. With phone plugged in, it jumps to 13.6W under benchmark, so I'm guessing the USB 3.0 ports can provide 5V @ 1A.

I'm not sure what happened here, video decoding worked fine in firefox before building new mesa panfork. It was all cpu decoding though, so a little bit of dropped frames on 720p60 but watchable. 1920x1080 wasn't watchable if I could even get it to play. I'm not sure why new gpu drivers would cause the video decoding to stop working.

For it being this early, this is running very very good. RK3399 took about a year before it was even close to this. Raspberry Pi took about 3 years to become usable as a desktop (IMO).
