Review: Powerfist Pneumatic Dent Puller Set
Video review on the pneumatic dent puller made by Power Fist that was purchased from Princess Auto. I purchased this product roughly about a year ago and have used it on a few different vehicles of mine. Princess Auto currently lists it at $124.99 plus tax Canadian, but I bought it on sale when it was about half price. The pneumatic dent puller does work on air, therefore you can’t just use it by itself.

This product works with compressed air on a venturi creating a suction that allows the rubber suction cups to bond to a panel and then the pulling force can be applied with the slide hammer. I have a small 2 gallon portable air compressor which does work fairly good, but I would recommend using a much larger air compressor instead as this pneumatic dent puller is a direct air loss. I have used this puller with a larger 8 gallon air compressor and it does work quite well.
The parts that are included in the box are as follows:
handle
extension pipe
slide hammer
air inlet
hose
valve
6" or 150mm suction pad
4.75” or 120mm suction pad
2 3/8” or 60mm suction pad
and air quick coupler
I did however buy the correct quick disconnect fitting for my air compressor line setup.
I have found that the largest suction cup does provide the most amount of pull on the least amount of pressure and it’s able to form better to contoured panels compared to the other two smaller suction cups. Even with a smaller air compressor, it does work better as well. A couple issues I have ran into when using this product is that if you have a harder crease, you will have to flatten that out in order to pull the dent out and in some situation make it stay. Another one is that if there is any structural metal in behind the sheet metal, this won’t work as you will need to straighten those structural components first. If you have a smaller air compressor, the smallest suction cup isn’t usable. Both the stationary handle and slide hammer handle have a knurled surface. The stationary handle does have the exhaust port so you will need to be aware how you hold the handle so your hand doesn’t block it. On the package it does recommend being operated between 70 to 170psi. And the weight of the slide hammer is 3lbs. Overall I have to say the product is very well made and has worked great for a quick repair.
