French ‘Killing Machine’ For Indian Army

Under the Future Combat Ready Vehicle programme, the Indian Army hopes to buy roughly 1,700 main battle tanks. The FCRV programme in India is designed to replace the Soviet-era T-72 tanks. Last year, the Indian government solicited information from 12 companies with the goal of introducing new tanks by 2030. The administration of President Emmanuel Macron has notified the French National Assembly that it will support a plan to supply next-generation tanks to the Indian Army. The French government has declared that it will accept the plan for India put out by state-owned arms contractor Nexter. Dupont-Aignan, the French leader, requested for the construction of Nexter's Leclerc tanks to resume. If Nexter gets the deal, the French president claims, it will mean separate production lines for Leclerc tanks in France and India.
The Leclerc is one of the world's best main combat tanks. General Philippe Jacques Leclerc, commander of the French armoured division during World War II, was honoured with the name of this tank. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have purchased this tank. Jordan recently obtained this MBT as well. It is shielded by an advanced modular armour system that can be customised to the threat.
