Culture Series: Tswana | Koketso Resane

In this series I talk to South African individuals that love their culture, about what their culture means to them, their culture's myths, symbols, core values and heroes, the importance of their language, and the state of their culture in the 21st century. On this episode I discuss Tswana culture with Koketso Resane.

The Tswana are a Bantu-speaking ethnic group native to Southern Africa. Tswana culture is often distinguished for its complex legal system, involving a hierarchy of courts and mediators, and harsh punishments for those found guilty of crimes. There are about 5 million Tswana speakers in South Africa.
