R.W. Johnson, one of South Africa's foremost political scientists, joins me to discuss his recent writings about the strange mythologising of Africa's post-colonial leaders and anti-colonial struggle and the lessons for South Africa in this topic.

Some of RW Johnson's most well-known books include: South Africa; The First Man, the Last Nation (2004), South Africa's Brave New World (2009), How Long Will South Africa Survive?: The Looming Crisis (2015).
