LANEIGE Blue Hyaluronic Acid Review — What is Blue Hyaluronic Acid?

The new “blue hyaluronic acid” from LANEIGE sounds too good to be true: Based on 38 years of Korean skin science, “blue hyaluronic acid” is actually “fermented hyaluronic acid,” with the ability to hydrate up to 300% better than regular hyaluronic acid.

The only concern with fermented, “miniaturized” blue hyaluronic acid is the fact that it can be associated with irritation, unless it’s paired with other soothing, hydrating ingredients. (In the case of LANEIGE Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer, for instance, blue hyaluronic acid is paired with soothing and/or hydrating ingredients like algae, squalane, dimethicone, palmitic acid, and others.)

This isn’t an anti-aging cream that is going to help to protect, preserve, and treat your skin like, say, retinoids, concentrated vitamins C and E, or peptides, But this is a great source of hydration and skin soothing when your skin is feeling dry and a bit sun-damaged. I recommend it.
