No. II (AC) Squadron Royal Air Force march into Montrose for the Freedom Of Angus celebration 2019

No. II (AC) Squadron Royal Air Force, led by the Central Band of the RAF, prepare and march into the centre of Montrose in Angus, Scotland, in celebration of their Freedom of Angus and close links between the town and RAF.

Under the Royal Flying Corps, the squadron was the first to land its aircraft at Montrose Air Base in 1913 and is recognised as the oldest fixed wing squadron in the world. They were granted the Freedom of Angus in the RAF's Centenary year 2018 following a request from the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre.
