Low-income earners to ‘feel the repercussion’ of Australia high inflation
Nova Radio's Michelle Stephenson says Australia needs to get on top of inflation, or else those on low income will feel the repercussions.
Ms Stephenson said a lot of Australians are getting caught up with cost-of-living issues amid predictions the RBA will lift rates on October 7.
“It is out of control,” Ms Stephenson told Sky News host Erin Molan.
“The IMF chief just yesterday said Australia really needs to think about raising rates on Melbourne Cup Day because we have to get in control of inflation.
“The problem is if we let inflation continue to run, those on low income are the ones in the long term who are really going to feel the repercussions.”
