Zoom H5 Gain Clipping Problem and Solution
If you turn the gain of your Zoom H5 below the level 2.8 you risk clipping your audio signal.
In the range from 0 to 2.8 your audio can distort without visual indication.
Neither the level meter nor the clipping indicator shows the clipping.
So, if you are using the H5 stay in a gain range of 10 - 3 to be on the safe side.
And if you want to record a stronger signal and level 3 isn't low enough, activate the -20dB PAD via the H5s menu.
