The von Meek family estate was located on the left bank of the Pakhra River, located on the Eastern border of Podolsk, now heavily industrialised...
From 1831 to 1881, the estate was owned by representatives of the Armenian dynasty Abamelik-Lazarev. The estate was then purchased by Nadezhda Filaretovna von Meck. In 1876, her husband, railway tycoon Karl Fedorovich von Meck, died, leaving his wife a multi-million dollar fortune. Since that time, she became the patroness of the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, actually taking on all the care of the material side of his life. Thanks to her many years of financial assistance, the composer could focus only on creativity.......
Between 1904 to 1908, the estate was owned by the grandson of Nadezhda Filaretovna Vladimir Vladimirovich von Meck - also a philanthropist, art collector and patron of artists. He sold the estate to the Podolski Cement Factory with the main house been converted into apartments.....
After the revolution, various medical facilities were located in the estate, during the war there was a female sniper school, then communal apartments. Fast forward to the new century...
Between 2014-2017 the historic buildings were abandoned, open and unguarded. The estate suffered badly and continues in this state to this day.
