In this video, you’ll learn how to use Melodyne to make your vocals sound more professional.

First, I’ll show you how to use the automatic approach to using Melodyne, which snaps all of the tuning to a grid it determines to be the appropriate pitch.

Next up, I’ll dive into manual tuning, which is able to be much more transparent than the automatic option. The best way to do this is in small sections at a time, and also turning off the grid for easier, more precise adjustments.

I’ll then show you how to use specific tools within Melodyne. One of these tools is pitch modulation, which tightens the vibrato within a note.

Then I’ll demonstrate another tool called the pitch drift tool. This is used to fix a note that starts drifting up or down in pitch towards the end.

I’ll also show you how you can actually adjust the timing of the notes too by dragging them backwards or forwards within the grid.

Lastly, you’ll learn a fun creative trick you can use to control the formant of the notes. This is a common trick used in electronic music to produce the chipmunk or very low deep voice effect.
