In this video, you'll learn how to add clarity to your mixes using a powerful EQ technique.

It's best to clean up your tracks before starting the actual mixing process. One of the best ways to do so is using the "sweep and destroy" technique. This helps you to find those pesky resonances present in some of the tracks, making mixing much more fun.

When sweeping for trouble frequencies, it's important to adjust the width of the EQ band so that you contain the problem as much as possible without removing parts of the sound that you actually like.

You might run across resonances that only pop up in a certain spot. Wait and see if the problem goes away once the instrument/vocal plays a different note. If it does go away, then ignore it; you just landed on a part of the frequency spectrum where a note is corresponding to.

Once you fix a problem, it's very important that you go through the rest of the frequency spectrum as well; don't stop when you find the first problem and then move on to the next track.
