मिळालेल्या प्राथमिक माहितीनुसार, वायुदलाने बहावलपूर, कोटली आणि मुजफ्फराबाद या भागांतील दहशतवादी तळांना लक्ष्य करत अत्यंत नियोजनबद्ध आणि अचूक हल्ला केला. या कारवाईसाठी आधीपासूनच बारकाईने योजना आखण्यात आली होती. हे सर्व हल्ले अत्यंत सावधगिरीने आणि धोरणात्मक पद्धतीने करण्यात आले. पंतप्रधान कार्यालय आणि संरक्षण मंत्रालयाच्या उच्चस्तरीय समन्वयानंतर या कारवाईला अंतिम स्वरूप देण्यात आले. पीआयबी (PIB) ने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, 'ऑपरेशन सिंदूर' चे उद्दिष्ट म्हणजे सीमापार सक्रिय असलेल्या दहशतवादी गटांना स्पष्ट संदेश देणे आणि त्यांच्या हालचालींना निर्णायक प्रत्युत्तर देणे. पहलगाममध्ये झालेल्या हल्ल्यानंतर भारताने ही निर्णायक पावले उचलली असून, ही मोहीम दहशतवाद्यांना कठोर इशारा देणारी ठरली आहे. पीआयबीच्या माहितीनुसार, ही कारवाई पूर्णपणे रणनीतीपूर्वक आखण्यात आली होती आणि भारताची दहशतवादाविरोधातील कठोर भूमिका पुन्हा अधोरेखित झाली आहे.
