Dala'il al-Khayrat: Introduction and Significance - Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani introduces Imam Jazuli's "Dala'il al-Khayrat" (The Waymarks of Benefits). One of the roles of scholars is to facilitate the implementation of Prophetic guidance, and Imam Jazuli compiled this work, from his own prayers and those of scholars before him, as a means to consistently fulfill the encouragement to send much blessings on the Prophet Muhammad (Allah and bless him and give him peace).

Shaykh Faraz explains that the Dala’il is divided into eight chapters, and that by reciting one portion daily (two on Fridays) one is of those who send abundant blessings on the Prophet. A beautiful element of the book, he highlights, is the expressions of the meaning of plentitude of sending blessings of the Prophet: though the meanings are contained in basic formulas of sending blessings, as Allah's blessings are limitlessly eternal, the description helps us approximate what this means.

Shaykh Faraz reminds that this blessed work is one Muslim families have historically always connected to, and closes with an advice from Shaykh Nuh Keller (the critical editor of this work) to read even a few lines in one's spare time if one is unable to maintain a chapter daily.

The Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings be upon him) described the circles of remembrance as gardens of Paradise. [Related by Tirmidhi]

The Friday Circle is a gathering of gratitude, joy, and inspiration. It is an ideal gathering to end one’s week with spiritual upliftment and beneficial company. All are welcome—young and old, single and families. In this weekly Circle, led by Shaykh Muhammad Ba-Dhib, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani and Ustadh Amjad Tarsin, we uphold the Prophetic sunna of group remembrance (dhikr) of Allah; sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him); and exchanging beneficial and inspiring religious reminders.
