Boris Johnson defends war ship against Russian claims

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has defended the nation's Royal Navy Ship saying it was legally sailing in Ukrainian waters after Russia fired several shots and bombs towards the vessel.

The UK government says there were no warning shots for the HMS Defender in the Black Sea after Russia admitted they fired on the ship twice and warned crew verbally.

“We don’t recognise the Russian annexation of Crimea, it was illegal, these are Ukrainian waters and it was entirely right to use them to go from A to B,” Mr Johnson said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has declared the British defied international law and has demanded authorities to investigate the crew's actions.
