Footage captured by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) shows the British destroyer HMS Defender and the Russian patrol ship in the Black Sea on Wednesday.
Footage shows the incident in which the Russian Su-24M warned the Type-45 destroyer from the UK against alleged violation of the maritime territory.
In the communication between the ships, a warning is heard about the possible use of weapons in case of non-compliance with the requirements of the border service.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, a British destroyer, which violated the state border of the Russian Federation at 11:52 in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, entered three kilometres into the territorial waters, near Cape Fiolent.
According to the military department, the British ship did not respond to the warning and did not change its course. In this regard, at 12:06 and 12:08 the Russian border patrol ship fired warning shots from a deck gun.
In addition, at 12:19 Su-24M performed a 'warning bombing,' dropping four bombs along the course of the destroyer.
The ministry added that at 12:23 with the help of the joint actions of the Black Sea Fleet and the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, the destroyer HMS Defender left the borders of the territorial waters of the Russian Federation.
Britain's Ministry of Defence denied that any warning shots were fired at the warship in a statement, saying that the HMS Defender was carrying out 'an innocent passage through Ukrainian territorial waters in accordance with international law,' and the Russian shots were part of pre-planned gunnery exercises.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the UK does not recognise 'Russia's annexation of Crimea.'
On Wednesday, Russia summoned Britain's defence attache over an alleged violation of the country's border in the Black Sea.
British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Thursday over the Black Sea warship incident. The envoy received a demarche due to the incident.
