I. The Example of the Past (V. 1-13)

A. It is possible to encounter God and still not be pleasing to Him.

B. One of the most common ways Christians displease their Savior is with idolatry.
1. It starts with desiring anything more than God.
2. For the Christian, it is both inevitable and avoidable.

II. The Command for the Present (V. 14-22)

A. The best protection against idolatry is fellowship with Jesus.

B. Any act of worship that is not directed toward Christ is actually directed toward demons.
