collenchyma , sclerenchyma and parenchyma cells, stem structure, Xylem and Phloem. AS biology
this video is brought to you by simple biology channel It describes the plant stem structure and its different tissues, collenchyma, sclerenchyma and parenchyma in addition to transport through xylem and phloem. I will make your education simple as simple biology.
xylem is a hollow tube made of dead cells with lignified cell walls.while the phloem is made of living cells but these cells are empty so they get their nutrients from the companion cells.
sclerenchyma cells are dead cells with highly lignified cell walls which provide strength and support to the plant stem. collenchyma provide a storage place while parenchyma play a major role in storage and also retain the ability to differentiate into other plant cells. the structure of the xylem and phloem is very important to their functions. vascular cambium is a layer of stem cells that can differentiate into either xylem or phloem.
