Toni Braxton Un-Break My Heart AMA 2019, Breathe Again Live

On the 25th annual American Music Awards, Toni Braxton performed Un-Break My Heart and Breath Again at Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, CA. She previously performed on the AMA stage 19 years ago when a young Toni Braxton took home her last award.

On Sunday, November 24, 2019, only Braxton's live performance of her #1 hit "Un-Break My Heart" was broadcast on ABC. Breathe Again (enhanced) (4:00) is presented here from her live 1993 appearance on The Late Show Starring David Lettermen. Braxton's self-titled debut album included "Breathe Again", her first worldwide hit. The Babyface song reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1993, spending 17 weeks in the top ten.

"Un-Break My Heart" is from Toni Braxton's second studio album, Secrets in 1996. Written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster, the song won a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards in 1997. "Un-Break My Heart" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Billboard Review: The singer appeared angelic alongside her army of violinists, who complimented her dulcet vocals. Clad in white, Braxton relished the atmosphere, which found many audience members soaking in the nostalgia and belting her lyrics with gusto.

For Braxton, tonight marks her first AMA performance since 2001. Then, the seven-time AMA award-winner took two awards for favorite soul/R&B female and favorite soul/R&B award.

The original ‘Unbreak My Heart’ is Toni Braxton’s most viewed video and best-selling single. Premiering on MTV in September 1996, the video for “Unbreak My Heart” was one of the most played on rotation and would remain for months to come. More so, it helped to push the record to become Braxton’s biggest hit.

“Unbreak My Heart” was ranked as the fourth most popular song of the decade on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1997. The music video currently has almost 500 million views on YouTube.
