Tesla Model Y will Get 4680 Batteries + Made in China MY Progress Update

Elon musk just confirmed on twitter that the new 4680 battery cells an structural battery pack will be used for the Model Y's built in the Berlin Gigafactory. After the processes are perfected, Tesla plans to integrate these new processes in their existing Gigafactories. Why is this such a big deal?
