Too Bad You're So Beautiful (Night Version) - Duran Duran

"Too Bad You're So Beautiful" (from All You Need Is Now, 2011) to me is right up there with the best of Duran Duran's early material: upbeat hooks, Nick's melodic riffs, John's driving bass, and Simon's haunting voice all combining to lift you up to a space of auditory bliss. Roger hitting 16th notes on the snare (5:38) is right out of the Hold Back the Rain playbook (check out https://youtu.be/-vz5XPSETrs?t=319). The AYNIN album of course has other not-so-subtle hints to older DD material, especially Girl Panic (the opening drum pattern being beat-per-beat the same as Girls on Film) and The Man Who Stole a Leopard (basically The Chauffeur 2.0).

I felt that TBYSB deserved a "Night Version" (extended mix) of its own, so I took a crack at it. This version, like my "Ice Queen mix" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms0Jlv30R5o), takes out the "Lay me on your bed" section before the chorus. It's just a personal preference - I like the song better without it. If you're wondering about the intro, all I did was use a simple reverse effect - my own little homage to "Rio" there.
